Bush vine Barossa Cabernet for 66% OFF | Angus Hughson | Cracka Wines Deal
Deal Description
Almost a year ago the Kest Reserve Barossa Cabernet Blend came into our life here at Cracka and created a storm.
We sold absolute oceans of the stuff, and even my neighbours were hitting me up for more. It was a phenomenon!
This week, at long last, the followup 2014 Kest Estate Reserve Barossa Cabernet Blend has arrived, and this vintage arguably tastes even more impressive.
So to fill in the backstory, Kest Estate is a Barossa winery setup mainly for exports, backed by a vineyard planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
What makes this plot unique is that it's all bush vines - small stumpy, gnarled things that typically produce lower yields but greater concentration.
For this Reserve Cabernet Blend, the aim is absolute quality from the start. That means those fabulous little vines are handpicked and then transferred to a single open fermenter. The finished wine is then matured for a whopping 18 months in a mix of new and old French barrels before bottling.
The final result is a big wine too - a chunky, full-flavoured Barossan red with those classic blackberry regional flavours and backed by real tannins.
For such a classic Cabernet you'd expect to pay serious dollars, and the winery gives this a $30/bottle RRP. But for you, it's just $9.99/bottle - or 66% off the RRP.
This is the best bottle of Barossan you'll get for $10 anywhere!
